Who am I?
Hi there! My name is Candice, the face behind Inspired Lens Photography.
As a university graduate and a certified teacher, I honestly never saw my life where it is today, but I knew I wanted to work closely with people and do something meaningful with my life. Shortly after having my two beautiful children, my dad passed away leaving his Nikon to me, for him, one of the most valuable things he owned. “I want you to have my camera. I know you will do something great with it,” I remember him saying to me one evening about two weeks before he passed. It took me a few months to finally open the camera bag and take it out, but I decided, yes, I would make sure to do something great with it.
I love the science behind taking a picture and I’m fascinated with taking that image and editing it to create a piece of art. But my inspiration doesn’t dwell there. I’m inspired by people. I absolutely love making people, adults and children, smile and laugh and capturing that moment. I love directing families to snuggle up and make a memory and then freezing it for them to keep for a lifetime. I love showing a mom how important she is when she looks at a photo and sees the smile on her child’s face when he looks at her. I love baby giggles, as I play peek-a-boo behind my camera. I love capturing emotion and turning it into art.
Nearly a decade ago when I graduated, I never would have thought I would trade being a teacher for this – but this is where my heart is now. I have found a new way to help people – to help them see their world through my lens, and it never gets old showing people such beauty, something they may not have seen otherwise.
